Dr. Mark S. Feder

Dr. Mark S. Feder

Dr. Mark Feder, founder of Norwalk Eye Care in Norwalk, Connecticut, has extensive experience in all aspects of Primary Eye Care. He has a long-standing reputation in the community, specializing in difficult contact lens fittings, cataract and lasik surgery consultations and helping improve the overall vision of his patients.

Dr. Feder graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton with a Bachelor of Arts in biology and earned his Doctor of Optometry from the State University of New York College of Optometry in New York City.

Dr. Feder is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Connecticut Association of Optometrists, and is on the Board of Trustees at the State University of New York College of Optometry. He’s been a long-time member of the Sports Vision and Contact Lens Sections of the American Optometric Association and the International Academy of Sports Vision and is the founder and former Chairman of IDOC, an Independent Group of Optometric Physicians with over 3,000 members across the United States.

Dr. Feder has been on the advisory board of several contact lens and pharmaceutical companies. He has conducted numerous clinical studies on contact lenses and published several journal articles on various aspects of eye care. He is a consultant to many companies in the ophthalmic industry and is a frequent lecturer on contact lenses and practice management.

Dr. Danielle J. Feder

Dr. Danielle J. Feder

Dr. Danielle J. Feder is a partner at Norwalk Eye Care located in Norwalk, Connecticut. Born and raised in Fairfield County, Connecticut, Dr. Feder joined the team at Norwalk Eye Care in 2017. Dr. Feder’s passion for eyecare began early on, as she needed glasses and vision therapy at a young age. She experienced first hand the positive impact of an eye exam and wearing glasses, and now Dr. Feder thoroughly enjoys passing that gift on to her patients. 

Dr. Feder performs comprehensive full scope medical exams, contact lens fittings, refractions to prescribe glasses, LASIK consultations and pre/post operative cataract exams.  She previously worked at a prestigious ophthalmology practice in New York City. Dr. Feder graduated cum laude from the University of Richmond with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Medical Business and earned her Doctorate degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry in New York City.  While at SUNY, Dr. Feder trained at both Woodhull Medical Center and East New York Diagnostic and Treatment Center working alongside a team of ocular disease experts in addition to Ezra Medical and Mental Health Center specializing in pediatrics and vision therapy.

Today, Dr. Feder is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Connecticut Association of Optometrists and the New York State Optometric Association.  She has extensive training in glaucoma treatment, diagnosis  and management of diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy, pediatric and binocular vision disorders and vision therapy.

When not in the office Dr. Feder enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with their dogs and DIY home projects!

Dr. Danielle P. Goldberg

Dr. Danielle P. Goldberg

Dr. Danielle P. Goldberg, partner at Norwalk Eye Care, is originally from Weston, Connecticut, and obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester with a Bachelors of Arts in Biology and Psychology and a minor in Art History. She earned her Doctorate from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, where she was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and recognized for superior academic and clinical performance by the American Academy of Optometry.

Dr. Goldberg completed an intensive clinical training specializing in custom contact lenses for patients with highly irregular corneas, including those with keratoconus, post-surgical ectasia, post-corneal transplant, and severe dry eye. She trained with world-renowned keratoconus specialists in both Los Angeles and Orange County, California, seeing patients from across the US and abroad.

Dr. Goldberg joined Norwalk Eye Care in 2016 and sees patients of all ages for comprehensive eye exams, specialty contact lens consultations and fittings, and medical eye care including glaucoma treatment and cataract co-management. Dr. Goldberg also has extensive experience in pediatric and binocular vision disorders – having worked at one of New York City’s premier pediatric ophthalmology practices specializing in strabismus and amblyopia for two years prior to earning her Doctorate. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Connecticut Association of Optometrists.

When not providing patient care, Dr. Goldberg enjoys hiking, yoga, and traveling (having visited over 25 countries so far). She is a passionate skier and loves a great powder day!

Dr. Sofia D. Ribolla

Dr. Sofia D. Ribolla

Dr. Sofia Ribolla is a Connecticut native, originally from Westport, CT. She received her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and her Doctorate from the SUNY College of Optometry, where she graduated with Honors and was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. During her graduate studies, she also completed a Master of Visual Science, focusing on dry eye and meibomian gland dysfunction in the pediatric population. She has published several posters recognized by the American Academy of Optometry.

Dr. Ribolla completed her residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where she focused on ocular disease, with special emphasis on vitreoretinal disease and glaucoma. In addition to her residency, she completed multiple clinical externships in Philadelphia, Connecticut, and New York working alongside cataract and glaucoma surgeons, performing specialty contact lens fittings, and managing binocular disorders.

Combining her studies and training, today, she provides a wide range of both primary and specialty eye care services. She is particularly interested in management of ocular surface conditions such as dry eye and blepharitis with the increasingly prevalent visual demands in today’s work environment.

Dr. Ribolla is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Connecticut State Optometric Association. She enjoys learning other languages, hiking the often-overlooked trails of Fairfield County, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Sarah E. Burens

Dr. Sarah E. Burens

Dr. Sarah Burens, originally from Cleveland, OH, earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience at The Ohio State University, graduating with magna cum laude honors. She then went on to complete a dual degree program at Ohio State, earning both her Master of Science in Vision Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees with the highest honors, summa cum laude. During her optometric training, she was the recipient of several awards recognizing her accomplishments in research, clinic and academics including earning the top national boards score.

Dr. Burens has extensive training in surgical co-management (including cataract, LASIK, and PRK) gained while practicing at Davis Eye Center in Cleveland, OH. She completed ocular disease training at White River Junction VA Center in Vermont where she managed multiple disease states including diabetes, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration. She has particular interest in ocular surface disease and takes a holistic approach to managing dry eye.

During her time at Ohio State, she held various leadership roles in organizations including Ocular Disease Club, Lions Club, Low Vision Rehabilitation Club, AOSA and SVOSH. She was also a member of the Beta Kappa Sigma Honor Society, American Optometric Association Leadership Society, and earned Student Fellow distinction through the American Academy of Optometry. Currently, Dr. Burens is a member of the American Optometric Association, Connecticut Association of Optometrists, and Norwalk Lions Club. In her free time, Dr. Burens enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors hiking.
