Dr. Sofia Ribolla is a Connecticut native, originally from Westport, CT. She received her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and her Doctorate from the SUNY College of Optometry, where she graduated with Honors and was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. During her graduate studies, she also completed a Master of Visual Science, focusing on dry eye and meibomian gland dysfunction in the pediatric population. She has published several posters recognized by the American Academy of Optometry.
Dr. Ribolla completed her residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where she focused on ocular disease, with special emphasis on vitreoretinal disease and glaucoma. In addition to her residency, she completed multiple clinical externships in Philadelphia, Connecticut, and New York working alongside cataract and glaucoma surgeons, performing specialty contact lens fittings, and managing binocular disorders.
Combining her studies and training, today, she provides a wide range of both primary and specialty eye care services. She is particularly interested in management of ocular surface conditions such as dry eye and blepharitis with the increasingly prevalent visual demands in today’s work environment.
Dr. Ribolla is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Connecticut State Optometric Association. She enjoys learning other languages, hiking the often-overlooked trails of Fairfield County, and spending time with family and friends.
